Named for the golden hue tracing the edge of each petal, the Golden-Edged Rose is a flower of love, blessing, and health in local tradition. It flourishes only in rarefied highlands 6,600–7,200 feet above sea level, where sunlight is abundant, ultraviolet rays are strong, and the cool climate slows the rhythm of growth. In this altitude, the petals develop richer anthocyanins and aromatic compounds, deepening both their golden edge and floral fragrance.
