As Hannah K. jewellery is not chemically treated, oxidation may occur. They are less toxic in their raw state, but they are susceptible to tarnishing.
Brass and silver can be sustainably cleaned with a simple household remedy:
Heat enough apple cider vinegar to immerse the piece in.
Add a few generous pinches of salt. Swirl the piece in the mixture for 5 minutes.
Remove the piece and clean it with soap and water.
Repeat the process if necessary.
An abrasive sponge or old toothbrush can be used to further polish the piece.

There are also liquid chemical products sold at hardware stores that can remove tarnish very effectively.
