Made on a back strap loom by weavers in the Highlands of Chiapas. Woven in autonomous Tzotzil Maya Territory, established by the EZLN, following a coordinated and armed resistance to the ratification of the NAFTA Treaty. The EZLN achieved a form of LAND BACK through their resistance and the formation of caracoles, governed by primarily matriarchal leaders.
