Huguette Caland was born in 1931 in Lebanon and has lived and worked in Paris, New York, Beirut, and Los Angeles, where she was based from 1987 until 2013. Caland has collaborated with poets, artists, and designers both during her time in Paris—where she worked with Adonis, George Apostu, and Pierre Cardin—and in Los Angeles as a member of the vibrant VeniceBeach arts community. Caland’s work was featured in the Hammer’s Made in L.A. 2016 exhibition.
